Welcome to Slovakia – preliminary text

Slovakia belongs with its expanse to mid-sized european states. Territory is miscellaneous but most of the district occupy mountains. Capital of Slovakia is Bratislava. Agelong history bring back many digs and cultural-historical monuments. Example of this are places registered in UNESCO – list of cultural monuments. For example Banska Stiavnica, Vlkolinec – preserve of folk architecture and Spisky castle. Slovakia take also pride in its beautiful nature. There are 5 national parks and 16 protected areas in Slovakia.

The biggest pride of this country is surely its folklore. Every area, town or village has its own character and its own folklore – folk costume, songs, architecture, traditions, folk memories. The most famous commemorations are in museums in nature. There are ten museums in nature in Slovakia.

Slovakia is rich in high-quality mineral springs and thermal water. Their curative effect gave rise to many health resorts, spas and thermal resorts and swimming pools. For example: Piestany, Trencianske Teplice, Bardejovske kupele, Vysne Ruzbachy, Kovacova, Liptovsky Jan. Worthy of note is also world of caves and abysses. There are twelve of them on view for public. The famous one is in Demanovska dolina.

Tourist districts in Slovakia offer all the year around a large number of sports possibilities and places for relaxation. In summer is mainly hiking and cycling, paragliding, horse riding, climbing. Water sports (Liptovska Mara, Orava, Ruzina), fishing. Winter time is ideal above all for skiers, cross-country skiers and confessors of snowboarding. It is possible to test snow scooters, horse or dog - drawn sledges.
